Final Thoughts/Postmortem
I learned a lot with this project. Once again I got too involved with the animations. I should have just downloaded some from Mixamo but I felt they wouldn't work with our asset pack, Either way, with my experience from my last project I felt that I more effectively implemented animations into the project. They are still a little weird but I now understand more about retargeting, blend spaces, and working with AnimBPs and Character Blueprints. The thing I think I struggled with the most is the two player aspect of this game. It wasn't difficult per say, just frustrating to find alternatives to finding the player apart from just getting to the Player controller. The actual rifle, pistol, and other blueprint aspects of this project were enjoyable and easily within my grasp. I sort of set up the weapon switching to be expanded upon, with any primary or secondary being swappable. When making it at first, I wanted to be able to carry more than two if I needed two, but programming that was leading me to errors I did not feel were worth the hassle within the time I spent on the project. Overall I am much more satisfied with this project than my last one.
I feel like our team worked pretty well together. Aside from minor GitHub issues we really didn't have any problems. If I had more time with this project, I would probably add another enemy time or clean up the gameplay a little. Right now it doesn't feel the most satisfying to shoot into a group of robots.
